*Discover what to expect during your first consultation with Traditional Healer Dr. Bula Moyo, from preparation to diagnosis and aftercare, guiding you through a transformative spiritual journey.*
By Doctor Bula Moyo|[Traditional Healer & Spiritual Guide](https://www.doctor-bula-moyo.com/en-us/) | ***Contact Dr. Bula Moyo on*** **👉[WhatsApp](https://www.doctor-bula-moyo.com/lets-talk)*****✅***
So, you have finally decided to do it. You have read the articles. You have felt the call. You have booked your appointment with me.
But now, as the time approaches, your palms are sweating.
- *"What do I say?"*
- *"What if the bones tell me something scary?"*
- *"Is there a specific dress code?"*
This anxiety is completely normal. Visiting a Sangoma is not like visiting a dentist. It is a sacred interaction. But it does not have to be intimidating.
I treat my practice with the same professionalism as a law firm or a medical clinic—but with a lot more soul. Here is a step-by-step guide to exactly what happens during your first consultation, whether you are visiting my *Ndumba* (Sacred Room) in person or calling me on WhatsApp from London.
*In the Image above: African Spiritual Healer, Dr. Bula Moyo, seated on his sacred mat in the Ndumba (Sacred Room), gently welcoming you into the space. Soft candlelight flickers beside him, Imphepho (sacred sage) smoke curling into the air as he opens the way to the Ancestors. This is the moment your journey begins: what to expect in a traditional healer consultation with Dr. Bula Moyo—whether you are sitting across from him on the mat or connecting with him live on WhatsApp from anywhere in the world.*

[Let's Talk](https://www.doctor-bula-moyo.com/whatsapp)
### **Step 1: Preparation (Before We Start)**
You do not need to fast or wear traditional clothes, but you do need to prepare your energy.
- **Sobriety:** Do not drink alcohol or use recreational drugs for 24 hours before our session. Your mind must be clear to hear the messages.
- **The Space:** If we are meeting online, find a quiet room where you will not be disturbed. Do not call me while driving or shopping. This is holy ground; treat it with respect.
- **Items to Bring:** Have a pen and notebook ready. The Ancestors often speak fast, and you will want to write down the instructions.
### **Step 2: The Opening (*Ukuvuma*)**
When the session begins, I will greet you.
- **The Greeting:** In our tradition, we say *"Thokoza"* (Joy/Greetings) or *"Makhosi"* (The Royal/Spiritual Ones). You can simply say "Hello Doctor" if you prefer.
- **The Connection:** I will ask for your full name and your mother’s name. I will then light a candle and burn *Imphepho* (Sage) to open the channel to your lineage.
- **The Silence:** I may ask for a moment of silence to pray. Join me in this silence.
### **Step 3: The Diagnosis (Throwing the Bones)**
This is the core of the session. I will shake my bag of bones, shells, and sacred tokens, and throw them onto the mat.
**Here is what makes a Sangoma different from a Psychic:**
- **I speak first.** I will tell *you* why you are here. I will look at the pattern of the bones and say, *"I see a heaviness in your relationship,"* or *"I see a blockage in your finances."*
- **Confirmation:** I will ask, *"Siyavuma?"* (Do you agree?). You answer *"Yebo"* (Yes) or *"No"* if I am off track. This establishes the truth.
***Book a*****👉[WhatsApp](https://www.doctor-bula-moyo.com/lets-talk)*****✅ spiritual consultation with Dr. Bula Moyo today.***
### **Step 4: The Discussion**
Once the bones have spoken, the floor is open.
- You can ask specific questions. *"Is my boyfriend cheating?"* *"Should I take the job in Dubai?"*
- **Honesty is Key:** Do not lie to the Healer. The bones already see the truth. If you lie, you waste your own time.
### **Step 5: The Prescription (*Muthi*)**
I will not just tell you your future; I will give you homework to fix it. Depending on the problem, I might prescribe:
- **A Cleansing Bath:** Instructions on using coarse salt or specific herbs.
- **A Ritual:** A simple candle ceremony to perform at home.
- **Herbal Medicine:** If you are local, I give you the bottle. If you are international, I tell you what ingredients to buy or ship them to you.
### **Step 6: Closing & Aftercare**
We close the session by thanking the Ancestors.
- **How you will feel:** Most clients feel a huge sense of relief, like a weight has been lifted. However, some feel **tired** or emotional. This is called a "Spiritual Detox."
- **What to do:** Drink plenty of water. Rest. Let the energy settle for the rest of the day.
---
### **Etiquette: The Dos and Don'ts**
- **DO:** Ask for clarification if you don't understand a metaphor.
- **DO:** Pay the consultation fee *before* the session (for online bookings). This is an offering that opens the spiritual road.
- **DON'T:** Cross your legs and arms. In our culture, crossing your limbs "closes" your spirit. Sit openly to receive.
- **DON'T:** Bargain with the Spirits. If a ritual requires a specific sacrifice (like money to charity or a specific offering), do not try to negotiate it down.
*Sangoma carefully throwing bones for a deep spiritual reading and diagnosis, interpreting the signs to uncover hidden problems and guide you towards healing and solutions.*

### **Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)**
**Q: Will you tell me if I'm going to die?** **A:** This is the #1 fear. **No.** Ethical healers are not allowed to predict death dates. If we see danger or illness, we tell you *how to prevent it*. We focus on **Life**, not Death.
**Q: Can I record the session?** **A:** Yes, I encourage it. You will receive a lot of information, and it is easy to forget the details later.
**Q: What if I don't believe in Ancestors?** **A:** You don't have to worship them to benefit from their wisdom. Think of it as consulting a "Spiritual Life Coach." The advice is practical and grounded, regardless of your religion.
