Once you have cleared the generational "sludge" and established a steady line of communication, you are no longer just surviving—you are ready to thrive. In many spiritual traditions, the ancestors are considered the primary "gatekeepers" of your earthly success. They want you to be prosperous because your success is the highest tribute to their survival.
However, asking for help isn't just about wishing; it’s about The Petition. A petition is a formal request, a spiritual "business meeting" where you present your goals to your council of elders and ask for their backing.

Ancestral work is built on the principle of Exchange. You provide the physical elements (offerings, attention, and memory), and they provide the spiritual influence (favor, ideas, and protection).
When asking for prosperity, it is traditional to offer things that represent "Growth" and "Sweetness."

This ritual is most powerful on a Thursday (ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion) or a Sunday (ruled by the Sun, the planet of success).
Write your request on a piece of clean, white paper. Be specific. Instead of saying "I want money," say "I am asking for the successful approval of my project" or "I am asking for a job that pays [amount] and respects my time."
Fold the paper toward you three times (to draw the success in). Place it on your Ancestral Altar under the glass of water or a bowl of coins.
Light a yellow or white candle and speak with authority:
"Elders of my blood, providers of my breath, I call upon you. I seek to build a life that honors our name. I ask for your hand in my work. Open the doors that are locked. Speak for me in rooms I cannot enter. As I prosper, so shall I remember you."
Ancestors help those who help themselves. After the ritual, take one physical action toward your goal. If you asked for a job, send an application. If you asked for a business deal, make a call. This shows the ancestors you are ready to work with the energy they provide.
In the ancestral view, true prosperity is known as "The Full Basket." It includes:
The Idea: Receiving a "spark" of inspiration that no one else has.
The Favor: Being in the right place at the right time (synchronicity).
The Character: Having the discipline to keep the money once it arrives.
The Health: Being strong enough to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Technically, you can ask for anything. However, ancestors usually prefer to help with Sustainable Growth. They want to build a "well," not just give you a "cup of water." They are more likely to help you build a career or business that lasts than a one-time windfall that might destroy your character.
This is a powerful opportunity! If your ancestors lived in poverty, they want you to be the one who breaks that chain. They may not have had the physical resources in life, but from the spirit world, they have access to the "vibration" of abundance. Your success is their victory.
Leave the paper on the altar until the request is granted. Once it happens, burn the paper in the candle's flame, scatter the ashes in the wind, and leave a "Thank You" offering (like a bottle of their favorite drink or fresh flowers).
If you are asking for career success, place a piece of Tiger’s Eye or Pyrite on your altar. These stones act as "batteries" that hold the frequency of confidence and wealth, keeping your petition "charged" even when you aren't at the altar.
